What We Believe
Statement of Faith

THE WORD OF GOD - We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament is the infallible and inspired Word of God, and without error in the original manuscripts. God’s word is the final authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21, In 2 Peter 3:16 Paul’s writings are considered Scripture, 1 Corinthians 14:37, Proverbs 30:5, Psalm 12:6).
GOD - We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. (Gen 1:1, Gen. 17:1, Exodus 3:6,14, Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 33:6, Isaiah 40:28, 1 Corinthians 8:6).
JESUS - We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made, one in Being with the Father. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, he was born sinless and became a man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died and was buried. On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, Isaiah 43:1-4, Isaiah 52:13-53:12, Jeremiah 23:5-6, Micah 5:2, Matthew 1:18-25, 16:13-17,21, Matthew 26-28, Luke 1:26-38, 2:1-7, John 1:1,14, 1Corinthians 8:6, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15-20, 2:9, Titus 2:13, Hebrews 1, Revelation 1:17-18).
THE HOLY SPIRIT - We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit applies the redemptive work of Christ into the lives of the believers (John 16:13, Romans 5:5, Romans 8:2, Romans 8:9, Romans 8:10, Romans 8:13, 1 Corinthians 6:11, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Galatians 5:22-23, Titus 3:5). The Holy Spirit transforms us into the image of Christ and He empowers us to live for Christ.
THE TRINITY - We believe that God eternally exist in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each Person in the Godhead is fully and completely God (Genesis 1:26, Genesis 3:22, Genesis 11:7, Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 110:1 Isaiah 6:8, Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 44:6, Isaiah 48:16-17, Daniel 7:9,13, Zechariah 12:10, Matthew 1:23, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, Luke 1:35, Luke 3:21-22, John 1:14, John 10:30, John 14:9-11, John 14:16-17, Romans 14:17-18, 1 Corinthians 8:6, 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, 2 Corinthians 3:17, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Ephesians 4:4-6, Philippians 2:5-8, Colossians 1:15-17, Colossians 2:9, 1 Peter 1:1-2).
MAN/SIN - We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Because of Adam’s disobedience, our first parents fell from their original innocence and fellowship with God (Genesis 3:1-24). Since Adam was the head of the human race, his sin affected his posterity. We are all born in sin and separated from fellowship with God (Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12-21).
MAN’S RESTORATION - We believe that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross is the only way that man can be restored to eternal fellowship with God (Isaiah 49:6, John 1:29, John 3:16, John 12:32, Romans 5:17-19, Galatians 3:13, 1 Timothy 2:6, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 John 2:2, Revelation 5:9). Jesus’s perfect obedience to Father gives us forgiveness and righteousness. (Isaiah 50:5, Matthew 26:39, Romans 5:18-19, Philippians 2:8, Hebrews 4:15, Hebrews 5:8).
ETERNAL LIFE - We believe that God offers eternal life as a free gift and that it must be received by faith alone through God’s grace alone. (Matthew 7:13-14, John 3:16, John 6:27-29, John 10:28-30, John 17:3, Romans 3:24, Romans 5:21, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:5, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Timothy 1:16, 1 John 5:13, 1 John 5:11, 1 John 5:20).
THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - We believe that a person receives the Holy Spirit when they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. When a person repents of their sins and turns to Jesus, they are immediately sealed or filled with the promise of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). Every believer has immediate access to all spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3). We do not believe that baptism with the Holy Spirit is a “second experience” or a “second work of grace” following salvation. The Holy Spirit immediately brings us into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). Romans 8:9 says, “…Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.” This clearly says that you cannot be saved without having the Holy Spirit. This means that when we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior, the Spirit has to immediately indwell us. There cannot be a waiting period. To say that someone is saved but they have not received the Holy Spirit as of yet clearly contradicts the Scriptures. We believe that there are clear signs that a person has received salvation and the Holy Spirit. The first and most important sign is a transformed life. The Holy Spirit will produce fruits of righteousness in a believer's life (Luke 8:15, John 15:2, John 15:5, John 15:16, Romans 6:22, Galatians 5:22-23, Colossians 1:10, Titus 3:5). The evidence of the Holy Spirit is a transformed life.
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT - At True is the initial evidence or the most important sign of the Holy Spirit (see our belief about the indwelling of the Spirit). We believe tongues should be practiced in the assembly of the believers when there is someone to interpret (1 Corinthians 14:5, 1 Corinthians 14:27-28). We encourage and promote all of the gifts of the Spirit.
THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST - We believe that Christ will return to the earth physically and visibly. He will judge the nations and raise the dead at his second coming (Matthew 16:27, Matthew 24:29-31, John 5:28-29, John 6:39-40, Acts 1:10-11, Acts 17:31, 1 Corinthians 15:51-54, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Titus2:13, Hebrews 9:28, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 1:7). The redeemed will receive new bodies and live with Christ forever when He returns.
BAPTISM - We believe that baptism is an ordinance instituted by Christ for those who are believers (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38). A person must be able to make a confession of faith prior to baptism (credobaptism). The mode of baptism is to be fully immersed in water because baptism demonstrates the believer's identification with death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-4). Baptism is an outward confession of the inner working of the gospel.
THE LORD'S SUPPER - We believe that the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion is an ordinance that was instituted by Christ (Matthew 26:26-29, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Believers are to partake of the bread and drink that are symbolic of Jesus's body.
Our Purpose
We exist to make disciples of all nations so that Jesus Christ would be glorified among all nations.
